ASP.NET Machine Account- what is it?

ASP.NET Machine Account (Standard user, Password protected) appeared on my computer under user accounts.  What is it?  Where did it come from?  Can & how do I get rid of it?
Answer
Answer
Got to your control panel then click on user accounts after logging in as administrator.  Then delete the account.  This worked for me even without the password (it never asked for one).  The account is set up when you install .NET framework and unless you are a developer it's not needed.  I have had no problems since deleting it even with programs that require .Net framework installed such as Reg Defence.
