Movie Maker won't import certain supported files

Hello there, I am in the midst of trying to make a little video using Windows Movie Maker. However, I am finding that there are certain .mp3 files that it refuses to import. There are some that are imported without any issues at all. When it fails to import the music though, it doesn't give any reason as to why it won't import. This is the error that comes up:

I have tried moving the file and re-downloading it. The file also works on the other media playing programs i have; Windows Media Player and iTunes. Could it have to do with the file name?

Sometimes Movie Maker has compatibility
issues with .mp3 files. It may be worth a try
to convert the .mp3 files to the .wma format
and then try to import them into Movie Maker.

BTW...just because Windows Media Player can
play a file does not mean it till be compatible
with Movie Maker.

There are many ways to convert MP3 to WMA...
here are two choices:

1) Windows Media Encoder can convert the files:

Windows Media Encoder
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5691ba02-e496-465a-bba9-b2f1182cdf24&displaylang=en

How to convert .mp3 to .wma
using Windows Media Encoder

Open Windows Media Encoder

On the New Session screen / Wizards tab...
choose...Convert a file / OK

On the File Selection screen...browse to the
.mp3 Source File you wish to convert

Also browse to and select a save folder and
enter a name for your converted file /
Save button / Next

On the Content Distribution screen I usually
choose 'File Archive' / Next / Finish.

When you see the 'Encoding Results' screen
the task is complete.

2) The following free converter might be worth a try:
(you can import several MP3 files in a batch and the
conversion is very fast)

Free Mp3 Wma Converter
http://www.koyotesoft.com/indexEn.html
(Mp3, Wma, Ogg, Aac, M4a, Ac3, Ape, Flac, Wav)
(FWIW if you install the converter you may want to
uncheck the offers of Yahoo and Dealio) (also...you
may want to uncheck the CD Ripper and the Easy
MP3 Cutter)
