startup and shutdown slow. EVENT VIEWER shows Warnings and Errors

Computer very slow on startup and shutdown.  Event Viewer shows these errors:

Error I:  Log Name: System - Source: Service Control Manager - Date: 9/3/2009 - 4:20:10 AM - Event ID: 7026 - Level: Error - Keywords: Classic - Description:  The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: i8042prt

Error II: Log Name: Application - Source: Microsoft-Windows-WMI - Date: 9/3/2009 - 4:20:10 AM - Event ID: 10 - Task Category: None - Level: Error - Keywords: Classic - Description: Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

Error III: - Log Name: System - Source: Microsoft-Windows-PrintSpooler - Date: /3/2009 4:19:12 AM - Event ID: 19 - Task Category: None - Level: Error - Keywords: Classic - User: SYSTEM -
Description: The print spooler failed to share printer Canon Inkjet PIXMA iP8500 with shared resource name Canon Inkjet PIXMA iP8500. Error 2114. The printer cannot be used by others on the network.

Error IV: - Log Name: System - Source: Microsoft-Windows-HttpEvent - Date: 9/3/2009 4:19:07 AM - Event ID: 15021 -
Description: An error occured while using SSL configuration for socket address 172.16.1.33:63331. The error status code is contained within the returned data.

Error V: - Log Name: System - Source: Microsoft-Windows-HttpEvent - Date: 9/3/2009 4:19:07 AM - Event ID: 15021 -

escription: An error occured while using SSL configuration for socket address 169.254.205.129:63331. The error status code is contained within the returned data.

try preforming clean boot using msconfig, by disabling startups and none windows services see if it make a differance! then try to enable the ones that are necessary!
preform disk clean up and defragment
check for disk errors
scan for malware, spyware, adware, viruses...
unistall programs that you do not use
make sure that ur drivers are uptodate and they are working correctly.
try sfc\ scannow through cmd AS ADMINSTRATOR!
MAKE SURE THAT WINDOWS IS UPTODATE!
