Power Calibration Area Error

I am trying to back up my DVD collection to take on deployments with me so my wife can keep the originals. All my co-workers tell me that imgburn is the best software to use to do this. At the very end of the session when it is is Finalizing at 99% complete the "POWER CALIBRATION AREA ERROR" pops up and completely wastes my DVD. I am running a brand new SONY VAIO with a DVD+RW/DL burner ATTEMPTING to burn on memorex 8GB DL disks. I'm running VISTA and as I said, my laptop is maybe a month old so I doubt it is a faulty burner or dirty lens. Any help would be greatly appreciated seeing as how I'm tired of wasting money on disks.

Hi,

Try burning at a different speed. Check with Sony to see if there is a firmware upgrade for your CD/DVD.
Sometimes it is the DVD media itself so try another brand.
