Question

Q: ERROR CODE 2000-0142 WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH THIS CODE?

I have a DELL Laptop with Windows Vista loaded.

It tries to load the desktop but keeps the green bar running with no result

CHECKDSK ran without any errors being found.

DIAGNOSTICS showed the color screen and then the error code 2000-0142

which seems to be related to the Hard Drive.

F2 function button works to change settings

What should I try to get it to launch windows?

Thank you

Answer

A:

Hi,

That is a Dell Error code saying that your Hard Drive has failed and needs to be replaced.
