Hi quantan,

6 GB is a hefty amount of RAM and should be more than enough for most people.  However, if you happen to use all of it at the same time through having multiple applications open, a page file (virtual memory) will help keep your system from grinding to a halt or erroring.  The page file can be customized or removed all together.

In the same place that you set the minimum and maximum size of the page file, there is an option not to use one.

Please note that Microsoft recommends that you do not disable or delete the paging file.
