"C:\Windows\TEMP could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder" when tried to download files

Original title: Can't Download files!

Suddenly I can't download any files. I tried a driver download from Windows, and some email attahcments from yahoo.  When I click on "Download" I get this message:  C:\Windows\TEMP could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.  Change the folder properties and try again, or try saving in a different location..  Can anyone help me?

Answer

Hi supersub,

I would suggest you to try the steps mentioned below. I would suggest you to try executing the following command and then check if you’re able to get the issue fixed.

a.     Click on Start; in the start search type cmd.

b.     Right click on cmd.exe and choose to “Run as administrator”.

c.     At an elevated command prompt type:

           icacls c:\windows\temp /grant:r BUILTIN\Users:(CI)(S,WD,AD,X)

d.     Reboot then see if the problem is fixed.
