Unknown Computer In My Workgroup

I have an unknown computer in my WORKGROUP.  I am using Vista (fully kept up to date) on a Dell laptop.  I am linked to the internet through a router and a cable modem.  My wireless link is disabled.  When I try to open the unknown computer I get the message:Windows cannot access \\BRN008077CBOFFE.  Network Discovery is set to on.

Should I be worried?  How can I remove this computer from my network?

Thanks

Mike

Hi MontrealMichael,

Thanks for using the Answers Forum.

If there is a computer connected to your network that you didn't setup, you may have an unauthorized person using your router.

I suggest checking the information that came with your router for security options such as WEP, or WPA.

Please let us know how this works out.
