Receiving error: "Error 815: The broadband network connection could not be established on your computer because the remote server is not responding"

original title: I can't connect to the internet wirelessly, only with an ethernet cable.

Hello,

I'm new here, so I'm sorry if I am reposting.

I have an HP computer (model m8300f) running on Windows Vista 32-bit. A couple of years back, my dad had it fixed by a friend. I don't remember the reason for the fix and I don't know if he replaced anything. (Sorry)

But now, I am unable to connect to the internet wirelessly. I am only able to do so with an ethernet cable. When I tried to, it says this:

"Error 815: The broadband network connection could not be established on your computer because the remote server is not responding. This could be caused by an invalid value for the 'Service Name' field for this connection. Please contact your Internet Service Provider and inquire about the correct value for this field and update it in the Connection Properties.

I have tried making another administator account, but to no avail. I am currently an AT&T U-verse customer. There are no problem when I connect wirelessly with my laptops. I have searched around for driver updates, but I am unaware of which one to install.

Thank you in advance.
