Can't sign in to Windows Live Messenger

Tried to log into Windows Live Messenger and receive Error Code: 80072efd

I have tried to correct the problem with the online help but it has not helped.  I used the "Get more information"  and followed the  directions with no positive results.  I seem to be missing a file.  My Internet connection is fine and have been having no problem logging in via Startup.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
