Cannot connect to SMTP server in Windows Live Mail

Original Title: "smtp server"

does anyone know what to type in the box smtp server in windows live mail  I can recieve mail but cannot sendAn unknown error has occurred.

Subject 'test'
Server Error: 421
Server Response: 421 Cannot connect to SMTP server 65.55.172.254 (65.55.172.254:25), connect error 10060
Server: 'smtp.live.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC67
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): Yes

See the part that says �??(65.55.172.254:25)�?�? That means it is still trying to connect on port 25 instead of port 587.
 
That mail account may be corrupted. Delete the account, restartWindows Live Mail, then recreate the account. 
 
Caution: Deleting a POP account in Windows Live Mail will also delete all folders associated with that account. So if you want to keep any of the emails in that account, first move them to a folder inside Storage Folders.
 
If no improvement, which antivirus are you running? Make sure your antivirus is not configured to scan emails.
