Windows Vista does not recognize my Fosmon Webcam

I bought a Fosmon USB 6 LED PC Webcam Camera Plus Night Vision and my computer says that the driver is installed for the device but says "Unknown device", so I cannot use it. Please advise on how to fix.

Hi Teenie1984,

1. Do you receive any error codes along with the message?

Step 1:

You can try connecting the webcam to a different usb port and check.

You can check in Windows updates for drivers and try installing the same.

Refer the link:

Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly

Step 2:

You can also try to run the Hardware Fixit and check:

You can also get in touch with Fosmon and check for the latest drivers for Windows Vista:

http://www.fosmon.com/fosmonusb20webcamwithadjustablestandmicrophoneandbrightledlights.aspx

Hope this information is helpful.
