Windows 7 autorun does not start when CD/DVD is inserted

orginal title: autorun does not work on my windows 7 when i put a CD or DVD in it, please help. i tried updating the CDrom driver but it still didn't work

please help

Hi,

Maybe these will help :

Using Start - Computer  OR  Windows Explorer - Right Click the device or drive - click “Open Auto
play”. For devices not plugged in - hold Shift - plug in the device. Hold Shift while inserting a disc
to see a list of options.

To see options when time you plug in a device or insert a disc :

1. Start button - Control Panel - AutoPlay or type in the search box -> Autoplay   find at top of list
and double click it.
 
2. Next to the device click Ask me every time.
