My wireless Canon MG5200 series printer wont respond

I have recently bought a new wireless Canon MG5200 series printer which is supposed to be a really excellent printer with photo printing and lots of different options, however when i try and print just a normal file (doc) it wont print. I think it must be something to do with the wireless connection but i have followed all the steps and troubleshoots and it wont respond. On the actual printer screen it only gives the option to print 'Document PDF' is that a problem as well? Thank you.

Step 2:

This can happen if Print Spooler needs other services, and these services are not running. To resolve this issue, use the following procedure:

a. Click Start, type "Services" in the search box
b. In Services, right-click Print Spooler and then click Properties.

c. Click the Dependencies tab. The first box lists all of the system services that must be running for Print Spooler to start. These are the dependencies.

d. Make a note of each service, click OK and then start each service upon which Print Spooler is dependent, if the service is not already started. If a service was not started, right-click it, click Properties and then confirm that the Startup type is Automatic.
