Hi snake66,

We are going to try several steps here to verify your problem.

Step 1:

Try deleting all the temp files in the temp folder.

Follow the steps to clear the temp folder:

·         Click on the Start button and in the Search bar type in %temp% and hit ENTER.

·         When the Temp folder opens up, press Cntrl + A and then press Delete

Also Download and Install the latest version of the Windows Installer. Download the file from the below link and Install it.

Step 2:

The first thing to check is that your phone has the correct settings. If you access the settings via the main menu then select phone settings and access USB/PC Connection settings, this should be set to PC Studio/modem.  (Please note the location of these settings may vary slightly depending on your handset)  You should also ensure that the Bluetooth on your handset is switched off.

Once the settings have been checked, connect the phone to the PC via a USB cable and start the PC Studio software. If your phone is not connecting, turn the phone off and back on again while it is still connected to the PC and the PC Studio window is still open.

If this does not work then proceed to Step 2.

Step 3:

If your handset is still not connecting the next thing you can check is whether the driver has installed correctly.

1.      To do this, click on the start button on your PC then select control panel and click on system, which will bring up a pop up box with a number of tabs at the top.

2.      From here you can select the hardware tab and will be able to access device manager, which will display a list of all of the hardware devices on your PC.

3.      Once in device manager you will see a section entitled Universal Serial Bus Controllers, if you click on the + sign this will display all of the USB devices.

4.      You should have one of two options, “Samsung mobile device” or “unknown device”, if the Samsung mobile device has a yellow question mark above it or you have unknown device it means that the drivers have not installed correctly.

5.      To correct this you can right click on the icon and select update driver and follow the instructions provided.

Note that if your option is “Samsung mobile device” and it does not have a yellow question mark above it, then it means the driver has been installed correctly and does not require the update.

Step 4:

If these steps do not resolve the issue then it will be necessary to reinstall the software, as you may not have the most up to date version.

Before downloading the new software you will need to uninstall your current version of PC Studio and restart your PC.

Once the PC restarts go to the official Samsung website and select the Support tab at the top of the page, from here you can select download centre and download the most appropriate version of PC Studio for your computer.  When the software gives you the option to run or save, save it to a location on your PC and make note of it.  I would recommend restarting the system at this stage. When the pc restarts, go back to where the software was saved and begin your installation.

Once the installation has finished the PC Studio will start and instruct you to connect the phone. If for any reason this does not connect first time please restart your PC. If after a restart it still does not connect with the PC please repeat the earlier steps.

Hope this information was helpful.

Let me know if this worked.

All the best!
