getting ATIKMDAG error, display driver not responding

I have 2 monitors, both dell, and the video card that came with my computer, for 2 monitors, everything worked fine on my computer until I put on the additonal dell monitor, and now it crashes and comes up with this message, ATIKMDAG , driver display not responding, and it shuts down my computer.  I really need to have 2 monitors, and would like to know how to resolve this issue

Hi txredhead

You may try to Reinstall the Video card and check if it helps

1. Click Start. In the Start Search box type "devmgmt.msc" and press Enter.

2. Expand "Display Adapters", double-click on the entry for the device.

3. Click the tab "Driver", click "Uninstall".

You may also try to uninstall the driver from Programs and features:

4. Click Start. In the Start Search box type "appwiz.cpl" and press Enter.

5. Remove the entries related to the Video card.

6. Restart the computer

You may also refer the manufacturer’s website and try to download the latest video card drivers.

Hope this information is helpful.
