Error 1068 'dependency service or group failed to start' in Windows XP? Windows Media Player

I’m currenty having problems with my windows media player sharing

I’m unable to connect my Playstation 3 up to the pc

Have clicked on Media Sharing in the windows media player

Click on the media sharing selection and no responds from the system

Have look under the services and have found that I’m getting a Error 1068 'dependency service or group failed to start' in Windows XP? When trying to start system

I have also tried to start these systems

  • Application Layer Gateway Service
  • Network Connections
  • Network Location Awareness (NLA)
  • Plug and Play
  • Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
  • Remote Access Connection Manager
  • Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
  • Telephony

And still not working

Also look under Msconfig / Service tab the “windows media player network sharing Service” has a Unknown Manufacturer

Computer is running

Windows XP Home Service pack 2

McAfee

also when you go to conect are you going to your computer and letting your play station 3 access? only need to do this once

what sort of connecting are you using? wirless / lan
i had no issues with lan after i let my vista os allow access
but wirless, have a sbg900 motorola and it drops connection, and has poor range
