BOOTMGR image is corrupt. The system cannot boot.

Toshiba Stalellite L355: MODEL NO:PSLD0U-00800X

Started the computer, Black screen with wording of "BOOTMGR image is corrupt.  The system cannot boot."

Use the Toshiba Recovery and Applications/Drivers, satellite L350 series windows vista Home Premium 32-Bit SP 1 which shipped with the laptop into the DVD driver and you will see the window loading.  After a while.  Windows Boot Manager screen pop up as below:

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc, contact your system adminstrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
File:\windows\system32\boot\winload.exe
status:0xc0000001
info: This selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.

It didn't show the factory image of all instructions on the screen(system recovery option).  How do I do the diagnosis without system recovery option to find the laptop component failure?  First impression of the BOOTMGR image is corrupt is the hard-drive failure, but I replaced the new hard-drive(SATA 2.5" MOMENTUS") and tried used the discovery disk.  The result show the same window boot manager screen as described above.

What's the suggestion except to send to repair shop?  Thank you

Hi,

Didn't your Toshiba come with two disks? One allows Startup Repair - start a boot and press F12 to
Select DVD as boot device.

Try Startup Repair -
