Bluetooth Support Service won't start in VISTA

When I go into Services panel it shows the Bluetooth Support Service set to automatic but not started. When I attempt to start this service it gives me Error:1053 stating that the service didn't respond in a timely manner. I have a MX5500 Revolution Keyboard/Mouse combo which works fine. But when I try to set the mini hub for it to accept other BT devices it hangs, freezes or just straight crashes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software several times with no such luck. I know the reason this happens is that the BT support service won't start. Any assistance is appreciated.
