  Hi famuchic,

Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

The screen fading might be caused due corrupt display drivers on the computer.

I would suggest you to update the display card drivers.

How to update the graphics card driver on the machine.

1.       Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.

2.       Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.

NOTE:  If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.

3.       Click Display Adapters to expand.

4.       Under Display Adapters, double-click the entry for your Display Adapters, and then click the Driver tab.

5.       Click Update Driver Software.

6.       Follow the Update Driver Software Wizard to update the Display Adapters driver.

Refer the link below to download the latest display card driver from the ASUS website.

Hope this information is helpful.

Let me know if this worked.

All the best!

Answer

Hello famuchic, welcome.

To expand on what Halima said, if updating the driver does not work, you may want to check with ASUS to make sure it is not a hardware issue. There could be a problem with LCD backlight or possibly a BIOS bug. ASUS may have specific information for you and chances are if other users have experienced problems with that series, ASUS will be able to provide you with instructions on how to troubleshoot the problem.

Have a good one,

Thanks!
