Before starting the troubleshooting steps, I need the required information.
Which version of QuickTime are you trying to download?
I would suggest you to check the Windows 8 software compatible center and to download and install the software which is compatible to Windows 8.
If you are using QuickTime version 7, I would suggest you to install in compatibility mode.
e. Right-click on the QuickTime download.
f. Click on Properties and select the Compatibility tab.
g. Click the checkbox before Run this program in Compatibility mode for option and select Windows 7.
h. In the list-down box; then try installing the program via Run as administrator.
If the above doesn’t work, I would suggest you to contact apple support and check.
