windows live messenger and error code 80070005

good morning,
i have recently bought a new lap top with windows 7,it will not let me sign into my msn live messenger and brings up error code 80070005 every tim i input my correct details.it says that the service is unavail;able which cannot be true as it has been happening for a week  now and my sister can sign in through windows vista.i also have norton 360 security and got in touch with an advisor who helped me take off norton and try to sign in again,so we have ruled out norton being the problem.any help would be much appreciated as i have loads of friends i keep in touch with through live messenger.

kindest regards lee mccullough

mac,

This is not the right forum to ask your question.
You might want to try to ask your question in the windows live help forums.
The people there have more experience with problems like yours.
http://windowslivehelp.com/community/

And just a fast tip on how you might solve your connection problem.
You can turn on a debug log where verbose information is stored about your connection problem.
This log could explain you more in depth what is realy going wrong.

You can turn it on and read this logfile with the following steps
.
 Enable connection logging
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. In the left pane, click Connection.
  3. Under Connection Settings, click Advanced Settings.
  4. Under Connection Logging, select the Save a log of my server connections to help troubleshoot connection problems check box.
 View a connection log
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. In the left pane, click Connection.
  3. Under Connection Settings, click Advanced Settings.
  4. Under Connection Logging, click View log.
The log file opens in Notepad.
If you can't read the log file. You can post the contents of the file on http://www.pastebin.org.
And drop a link here.

Kind Regards
