Error code 80010108 when trying to install Vista Service Pack 1
I've just bought photoshop CS4 and when trying to install it the programme asked me to download Vista Service Pack 1 to meet the minimum requirements. When I checked the Windows Update this was not listed. Checking the history it has failed in the past
and lists error code 80010108. Help!
What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)? Were any of these applications running in the background when you attempted
to install SP2
Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the computer (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought it)?

Support for Vista Gold (no Service Packs) ends on 13 April 2010. After that date, computers running Vista Gold will NOT be offered any further critical security updates, Automatic Updates will not work, and you will not be able to update manually
until SP1 or SP2 is installed.
Anti-virus: I have Norton installed. The laptop came with this pre-installed and I renewed the subscription at the end of the free trial. My subscription to this remains current. Not had McAfee installed on this at any point
Anti-spyware: Norton (I think!)
Firewall: Even though I have the Norton one I don't use it, I always use the Windows firewall
Norton would have been running at the time of Windows Update automatically installing SP1 (not SP2), however it hasn't stopped me installing other updates as and when they become available (not sure if this is relevant but thought I would mention)
I've had this same issue, I've done the manual download. I've un-installed Norton, re-updated. I've reformatted, re-updated and same result. Microsoft tells me, send it in ... subject to charges. this post may be old and inactive hopefully i can get some
help. I've got Norton 360 2010. Vista 64 bit OS
The mounted file system does not support extended attributes
