Using a (usb) microsoft sidewinder joystick in windows xp mode of windows 7 pro.

Hi, I have a microsoft sidewinder joystick (usb) with no driver cd (didn't come with one).

It is recocognized by the windows 7 pro. automariucally when I plug it in but not recognized when I go into the virtual windows XP mode.

I want to play an old version of microsft flight simulator (for windows 95) that I have uploaded into the virtual XP mode.

It plays just fine but at the desk top, I have no joystick recognized.

Can you help.

I have uploaded the cd drivers for 2 logitec wingman vibration feedback rumble packs with no problem. (cd's came with each rumble pack)

(it's in the programs installed/uninstalled list of control panel).

Hi,

To use the joystick in XP mode you should install the drivers in XP mode. I would suggest you to install the software (CD) that came along with the joystick and install it on XP mode and check whether you are able to use the joystick in XP mode.

Thank you and Regards.
