Q: Computer Freezes up, No error messages etc This thread is locked from future replies

Hello people :),

I've been having this issue where my computer randomly crashes/Freezes up (it doesnt respond to anything and doesnt move), for random times, There are no error messages, and i have no idea what the cause of this is so please help me out.

- A few things I've tried -

- Re-installing all of the games
- Virus Scans
- Defragmentation
- Recovering the entire computer from Factory Default (I've put all of the normal programs back onto the computer as well)

My PC Specs are;

Acer Aspire X32000
AMD Phenom(tm) Quad-Core Processor (2.30 GHz)
4GB RAM
64-bit operating System
Windows Vista SP 2
This happens to a lot of the games i play, However mainly to one called CABAL Online and The Sims 3 (Including World Adventures Expainsion)

Please help, Im pretty good with computers but this has got me.

Thanks, Dre9m

Answer

A:

You said it happens a lot when you're playing a game meaning that it's either DirectX doing something weird, your video card overheating or screwing up, your audio card screwing up, or just overheating in general... at least that's what I think.

Make sure all of your video and audio card drivers are updated as well as your directX. Make sure your computer isn't full of dust either.

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.
