I recently did a system upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8, all the drivers are properly updated and everything is working fine, but once i try to install the updates it doesn't work, i can select the updates i want, click install, and no matter how much
time i leave the laptop on, it always shows "0 KB total, 0% completed" What do i do to be able to install the updates?
My laptop is an HP Pavilion G6 and i'm using Windows 8 64-bits.

Based on the above description, it appears that you’re unable to install windows update.
I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned and later update us on the status of the issue.

Method 2: If the issue persists then set your computer in Clean Boot state and then try to install windows update.
By setting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

Note: After clean boot troubleshooting step, follow the steps outlined by “How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot “in the provided link to return your computer to Normal startup mode.
