Getting this error while trying to install some apps and .net 3.5 was needed and while the update was going this error code appear after finishing downloads Error Code 0x800736CC On windows 8 No solution found.Searched Every where.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start

    , type cmd in the Start Search box, right-click cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.
    If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
  2. At the command prompt, type chkdsk %SYSTEMROOT% /r /x, and then press ENTER.
  3. Restart the computer.
  4. Click Start

    , type cmd in the Start Search box, right-click cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.

    If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
  5. At the command prompt, type net stop wuauserv, and then press ENTER.
  6. At the command prompt, type net stop bits, and then press ENTER.
  7. At the command prompt, type rd /s /q %WINDIR%\SoftwareDistribution\Download, and then press ENTER.
  8. Restart the computer.
  9. Click Start

    , click Control Panel, and then click Security. Under Windows Update, click Check for updates.

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. (If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.)
  2. Type command prompt in the search box.
  3. In the list of results, swipe down on or right-click Command Prompt, and then tap or click Run as administrator.
    1. In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type the following commands exactly as they appear. Press the Enter key after each command:
    2. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
    • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
    1. To close the Administrator: Command prompt window, type Exit, and then press Enter.
    2. Run Windows Update again.
