Getting an error code “0X80070585c” while trying to update apps.

* Original Title: Windows 8 apps not updating

Dear Sir/Madam,

I recently bought Windows 8 pro, after trying out the Windows 8 Evaluation version. A lot of my settings from the evaluation version has automatically come to my newly bought Windows 8 pro. Although the following apps: Mail/Calendar/People/Messaging, Skydrive, and Maps app is not updating. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the Maps app, but it’s not reinstalling, while the other two apps are working absolutely fine, they can’t get updated. It tells me:

“Something happened and this app couldn’t be installed. Please try again. Error Code: 0X80070585.”

I try again and again to install the updates, but the problem persists. Please help me.

Also I can’t figure out how to chat with my brother who uses Windows 8 pro, using the Messenger app. Please help me.

Regards,
Karthik
