Windows Store Not Opening. Wsreset, time synchronization, clean reboots, and solutions calling for the Windows Store be open, need not apply.

This is a new topic, with the stated desire for new answers.  I implore Microsoft moderators to only make

suggestions that in some aspect is discernibly unique among the present list of possible solutions.  The thread,

in which moderators paste the same 3 to 4 possible solutions every 3rd day already exists. This thread is intended

to address those instances in which standard protocols have failed to alleviate the problem. There is also the

secondary objective, which is to serve as on ongoing repository for novel remedies to a Windows Store with zero

functionality. So as to avoid any misunderstandings, this means that the application is not opening.

Subsequently, solutions which call for opening the Store are of no assistance. Also, application issues are
secondary and discussion of those concerns here are not necessary.

Hi JackAroot,

Thank you for reaching out on Microsoft Community Forum.

I understand that you have tried almost all the suggestions provided on the forums related to Windows Store not opening,

Please reply to these questions before we go down to the troubleshooting steps.

1.       Did you use Microsoft Account (Connected Account) or the Local Account to login to the computer?

2.       What exactly happens when you try to open Windows Store?

3.       Do you receive any error message?

4.       Are you able to open other Apps?

5.       Are you able to connect to Internet using Internet Explorer?

6.       Do you have multiple User Accounts on the computer?

In case, you have Multiple User Accounts on computer, I would suggest that you check for the issue with Windows Store on different User Account.

If you do not have Multiple user Accounts then try creating a new User Account and check for the issue.

Refer to the link provided below for information on creating a New User Account in Windows 8.

Create a user account

Windows Store does not work! It will not open via the tile. Microsoft cannot help. I am very sick of this. I wish that I had stayed with Windows 7 .
Microsoft need t sort this out. Otherwise  I may sell everything and defect to Apple.

I have noticed that I have no network connectivity at all on the Windows Start Screen. Interesting how many threads there are in relation to this problem, some going as far back as January, and no fix.

One individual thinks that it may be tied into the re-direction of user oriented folder locations. I know that I did re-direct user folder (using change location in file explorer) but I don't remember if I lost Start Screen connectivity before or after that.

To be clear, ANY Win 8 app I try to run from the start screen that requires internet WILL NOT run. Photos, mail, skydrive, IE, calendar.

I am running a 64bit system and 2 laptops with the 32bit system. The Laptops work beautifully (with folder redirection... hmmm) but my desktop, not so much.

You can try and run sfc /scannow-note space- be ready to insert your media if needed. If this fails I would then try a refresh. After that if the problem persists I would do a reset or restore to Factory Conditions. Hope this helps and if you need any further assistance post and we will be glad to help you.

I have tried solutions involving msconfig, rolling back to a previous system save point, performing a system recovery from backup, etc. without success.
