Hi Lawliet,

Thank you for the reply.

Try these steps and check:

Method 1: Run the sfc scan and check:

The System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) scans for missing or corrupted system files and repairs them.

Follow the steps:

a. Press “Windows Key + C” to open Charms Bar.

b. Type “cmd” without quotes in the search box.

c.  On the left pane, right click on the “cmd” option and select “Run as Administrator”.

d. Type ‘sfc /scannow’ without quotes and hit enter.

Method 2:

A clean boot helps to verify if any third party application services or startup item is causing this issue.

You may refer the following KB article to set the computer in clean boot:

How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Put the computer to normal as mentioned in Step 3 from the KB article.

Reply us after performing these steps. If you have further queries with Windows we will be glad to assist.

 Hi Lawliet,

Thank you for posting the query in Microsoft Community!

As per the description provided, it appears that the Windows 8 store download status shows always as pending.

I have a couple of troubleshooting steps, I believe should help you fix this issue.

Method 1:
Download and run the Modern UI App troubleshooter and check.

Also refer:

Method 2:

Run the Windows update troubleshooter

I would suggest you to run Windows Update Troubleshooter and check if it works.
Follow the steps to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter:
a. Press Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the Charms bar.
b. Type Troubleshooting and click Troubleshooting under Settings.
c. Now type Windows update in the search option.
d. Click on Windows Update troubleshooter to run the troubleshooter.

This issue is likely due to apps being taken down from the store for either updates or repair. I would suggest you to update the app later and check.

Reply with the status so that we could assist you better. Hope this information helps.
