Can't install apps from Store, error 0x80070005

I am unable to install any apps from the Store. I select an app, click Install and it says failed to install with error 0x80070005. Sometimes it does 'half' install the app. As in, the tile appears on the start screen. But the tile always has an X on it and is unable to be run.

This is what my Event Viewer looks like. Not sure how to get more detailed error reports.

Thanks

Edit: Oh and how do I turn off all this permissions rubbish? Keep getting told I can't go into folders, well it's my machine I'd like to be able to :/

Edit: Fixed!

I went to C:\Users<Username\AppData\Local\Packages\WinStore_<somevalue> and changed that directory's permissions to include <PCName>\Users.

So, Properties -> Security -> Advanced -> Add -> Select a Principal -> In the edit box type PCName\Users then click Check Names. It should accept that. Click Ok. Then it'll ask which permissions you want to give. Check Full Control, click Ok, then Apply, restart the Store (Alt+F4 while within it) and it should work!

I tried running the troubleshooter and it gave me this http://i.imgur.com/xiR1p.png but sadly didn't fix the problem.

Hi Ali,

Welcome to Microsoft Community!

It looks like you are facing issue with installing app. In order to provide you with a quick resolution, please reply to these questions:

1.       Which app are you trying to install?

2.       Which troubleshooter did you try?

3.       Have you made any changes on the computer prior to the issue?

I’m glad to provide you with these methods which will help you to fix the issue.

Method 1: If you haven’t tried the App troubleshooter then you may download and run the New UI App troubleshooter and check.

http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/4/F24D0C03-4181-4E5B-A23B-5C3A6B5974E3/apps.diagcab

Method 2: If you are using any Proxy connection, then try disabling the proxy connection and check.

Follow the steps to disable proxy:

a.       Click the Gear box at the top right corner in internet explorer.

b.      Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

c.       Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings.

d.      Select the Use a proxy server for your LAN check box.

e.      In the Address box, type the address of the proxy server.

f.        In the Port box, type the port number.

Hope it helps. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to let us know. We will be glad to help you.

I am experiencing this same problem. The New UI App troubleshooter wasn't able to provide any clues to the error.

I am trying to install WeatherFlow. When I install the app a couple of things happen.

First: The Windows Store asks me for my user password. Which is weird because this doesn’t happen to other apps

Second: After I put in my password the app tries to install but then errors with the error code 8007005.

I have tried to clear the Store Cache with WSRESET with a system reboot but this doesn’t fix the error!

Third: Only the setting files are created when I try to install the app in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Packages\<VALUE>.WeatherFlow_<VALUE>

Having this problem with Windows 10 build 14291: install Facebook from the store.  Results in partial download, "Try this again Error", "Something went wrong" and 0x80070005.

Tried adding {PCName}\Users=Full Control to ACL on %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Packages - to no avail.
