Windows 8 pro upgrade-We can't connect

Trying to upgrade to windows 8 pro from windows 7.  Have tried all the troubleshooting and still nothing.  Spent 2.5 hours on the phone with level 2 support last night and they did everything i had already tried and nothing.  I have tried the following

 

sfc/scannow

chk

msconfig (clean boot)

safe mode

deleted drivers/apps that showed not compatible

different internet connections(fully functioning for web and other app downloads)

ran windows update(including hotfix and fixit)

proxy commands

delete websetup

rename websetup

different user profile

etc

etc

etc

i have tried downloading the setup file and runnning from web  it asks for key and then it says please wait while we go online and get some stuff

and then says we cant connect right now

Getting the exact same thing, even had the level 2 support stumped for 2 hours. He did say he spoke to Microsoft Washington?!? and they said it was due to the ammount of people trying to upgrad, he said would call me back tomorrow to continue the issue. I don't hold much hope but will keep updated.

I've been asking around and for the error:

"We can't connect Right Now. Check your internet connection & try again"

 

I think you need to an agent that specializes in ESD.   Can a few people  that are getting this error  contract this team and let us know how it goes?

Check the date on your PC.

 

I found this on the Internet.  My PC's date was wrong.  Once I corrected it, I was able to successfully upgrade.
