Hi,

From your post it appears that you are trying to get a "security key" for Windows 8.

There is nothing like a "security key" within the operating system. It would be helpful if you elaborate on the issue that you are facing so we can guide you in the right direction.

  1. Are you referring to the Windows 8 product key?
  2. Are you able to login to Windows?
  3. Do you get any error? If so, what is the complete error?

Do reply with the required information so that we can help you in a better way. Thank you.

When turning back on from "off" of "sleep,"  on the default starting screen with the Seattle Space needle (or whatever it is), Windows 8 says enter the Windows Security Key or control-alt-delete.

We're wondering what key the "Windows Security Key" is referring to?

Thanks-

Perhaps you are talking about inserting your authentication card (if your computer has one).  If you don't have one, press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and use your password instead.
