I have windows 8 pro on my computer, and i am building a friends computer. It was an oem copy, and we are using the same hard drive, so i must reinstall windows. the computer i am upgrading windows on currently will not boot due to the hardware change,
so i cannot run the upgrade assistant. it is booted to my windows 8 boot disk i made, and all i need now is to buy a product key. so where can i go to get a product key without the whole upgrade assistant thing?

If you want to build your own PC and install Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro, or want an additional operating system running in either a local virtual machine or separate partition (including a Mac), you can purchase the
Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro System Builder products (OEM versions). If available in your country or region,
Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro System Builder products can be purchased at participating stores, you'll need to ask a sales rep for more information.
This version does not include customer support.
There are no full retail versions of Windows 8. If you need a full version, you will need to purchase the Windows 8 Pro OEM from New Egg. This requires a custom clean install.
