When I downloaded windows 8, I lost my office program, how do I reinstall or recover?

I purchased the new windows 8 for my recently purchased Dell laptop (which came with windows 7).  I had installed on the computer Microsoft office (word, excel, publisher, etc.) installed as part of the purchase of the computer and the program has disappeared?  How do I recover the program?

Microsoft Office Professional 2007 also disappeared when I upgraded from Vista to Windows 8.  When I reinstall from the link above, will I get my Outlook settings back, emails, folders, calendar appointments, contacts, etc from before the install.  I cannot currently locate the .pst file.  I am worried I will loose all former emails, calendar and contacts.

Thanks,

Rod

I had the same concern. I used the links to reinstall Office 2007, however to get access to all my old email stuff I was advised by a tech at my ISP to install Windows Live Essentials 2012 as my mail. Once that was done and you sign in, there is an option to import, which successfully transferred all my mail folders, hallelujah. Mind you, I have now spent approximately 9 hours trying to sort everything out and still don't have a working printer, the wonders of modern technology

if you upgraded, look for a folder called "windows.old"

all your files and .pst files will be in there.

If you did a custom install, and reformatted your drives, sorry it all gone

ASUS liquid cooled, AMD Phenom IIBE, AMD Radeon R9
Well that didn't work as expected, did it?

Hey Devilgas,

New to this group - I did just as all the others - but I have found office icons in Windows.old - how do I get them to run in new windows 8 - keeps saying not compatible...

Thought this would be an improvement?

Many thanks if you can help
Mary
