Need assistance installing Windows 8.

Original title: Can I

G'day . I have a computer with win 7 hp the licence is an AO this means it can only be installed on this computer. If I upgrade to win 8 pro and change motherboard (It needs a new mb because something is wrong with it) will this new licence accept this or will it be like another AO. Basicly can I install on another computer at later date like I can with my retail version ?              or should I buy a full retail version?

The Windows 8 upgrade will require that you have a previous qualifying license installed in order to use it on the new motherboard. Because your WIndows 7 Home Premium license will no longer be valid, you will have to invest in a new full version license. So it is probably best to purchase the full version license.

There are no full retail versions of Windows 8. If you need a full version, you will need to purchase the Windows 8 Pro OEM from New Egg. This requires a custom clean install.

Windows 8 Pro
64 Bit (OEM)

Windows 8 Pro
32 Bit (OEM)

Windows 8
