Hi,

I've also problem with Java under Windows 8, after is installing Java VM and running any applet there is an error like this https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=BA859D0B10CAE68F!3355 and this occurs on any browser, Chrome, IE, Firefox and Opera.

I tried every tip that was here written, uninstalled Java, and installed offline version, restarting every time my PC, I also turned off my antivirus software. I tried also x32 and x64 bit version.

Does anyone have an idea how to deal with this problem?

Which version of Java should I download for my 64-bit Windows operating system?

Download errors: 1305, 2755, 1606, etc.

Installing Java
http://java.com/en/download/help/index_installing.xml?user_os=Windows%207

download the appropriate java setup file and save it on HD. Physically disconnect your computer from the internet, that's right -  pull out Ethernet cable or disconnect wireless connection. Install java from setup file (note: no error message). Reboot (not sure if necessary but done anyway).  Reconnect internet and your java is working.
