I keep getting a message that "Intel(r) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver" isn't compatible with Windows 8.

I keep getting a message that "Intel(r) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver" isn't compatable with Windows 8, but when I uninstall or disable this driver Windows 8 will not install.  I have tried about a dozen combinations of uninstalling & disabling this driver but notnhing works, when it reboots it will not go back to the Windows 8 installation, instead it goes to the repair screen & has to restore to previous installation to continue. This is an endless loop.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit.  Chip is i7. Memory is 16gig.

Answer
Since you uninstall it, manually install it again. Download it here.

After the restart, manually uninstall it though Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall a program

Look for "Intel(r) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver" and manually uninstall it. And you're good to go.
