Hi

Windows 8 supports Microsoft Office 2007 and later.

Office 2003 and earlier is not compatible with Windows 8.

You can give it a try, considering that it was not certified compatible with Windows 7, it is likely also not certified compatible with Windows 8 either. I personally have managed to get Office XP to work on Windows 7, but don't expect programs such as Outlook to function properly.

I suggest you try installing in compatibility mode.
