Windows 8 'Messaging App' not responding. Help?

I have just bought a new window laptop with windows 8 installed. Everything was set up and working perfectly and I started using the messaging app and everything was working fine. Now when i click on the app it opens and then closes straight away back to the start screen. Help?

 I would advise you that you download and install the direct x 11, this is something to do with your graphics improving the performance and the ftps rate's when playing a game or watching a video. I have done everything you advised and have just

completed the latest windows update and there

still has been no improvement. Im new to Windows 8 ,

especially this new touchscreen laptop. I will look through all

my settings to see if I can change anything.
