WINDOWS fails to start \EFI\MICROSOFT\BOOT\BCD status 0x0000185

I just got a new laptop, and i like it, but i went to boot it up and the samsung logo stays up and finally it throws up an error saying

windows has failed to load because of either a recent software or hardware upgrade...

file  \EFI\MICROSOFT\BOOT\BCD

status 0c0000185

info the boot configuration data for your pc is missing or contains errors

the it tells me to insert the windows 8 disk

i don't have a windows 8 disk, i got the laptop a month ago brand new but it's pre-loaded with windows 8... help a brother out!!!

Oddly enough I tried all the fixes when I got this efi error out of the blue. I have a dual boot, using win 7 as my primary and win 10 on another drive.

I downloaded a boot manager after seeing that somehow the drive letter had gotten changed when I decided to check the boot status. I did not have this issue until the latest update.

Changed it back and all was well.
