How to delete otshot unable to load skin?

I have no idea what OTshot unable to load skin even is.  Nor do I know where it came from!  I've tried to delete but "it keeps on tickin'". Hope to hear from someone soon.  Thanks in advance

Hi,

1. Are you getting any error message when you try to remove the Otshot MFC application?
2. Are you able to find the application under Programs and Features list in Control Panel?
3. Have you made any recent changes to the computer?

I would like to tell you that “otshot application” is one of the versions of Hotshot application.

You can follow the methods to try and uninstall the application:

Method 1:

I would suggest you to run the Microsoft Fixit to try and uninstall the software from the computer. Refer to the link to run the Fixit:

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/

Method 2:

I would suggest you to check if you are able find the application under Control Panel. If yes, follow the steps to uninstall the application:

a) Press Windows key + X and select control panel.
b) Click on Programs and Features.
c) Locate Otshot application/ Hotshot Application and right click on it.
d) Click on Uninstall and follow the onscreen instructions to uninstall the software.

Method 3:

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to run the security software that you have installed on the computer and check if it helps to remove the application.

Please perform Microsoft Safety Scanner to scan your computer for infections.

To download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner, follow these steps:

a) Go to the Microsoft Safety Scanner site at: Microsoft Safety Scanner

http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

b) Click Download Now.
c) If prompted, click Run. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the Microsoft Safety Scanner. When prompted, add a shortcut to the Microsoft Safety Scanner to your desktop.
d) From your desktop, double click the Microsoft Safety Scanner icon. When the Microsoft Safety Scanner program launches, click Scan Type, then click Full Scan, then click Next.
e) After the scan is complete, remove all detected malware entries

Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

Please post back if you are still experiencing the issue. I will be glad to provide you with the additional options available that you can utilize to get the issue resolved.

Great ideas but didn't work! Still get two popups at start up and the icon shows on left in programs. It doen't show in program list that provides for uninstall.  Don't see anything for hotshot in either list! Really annoying; any other thoughts? Thanks, John

I just resolved this issue Windows 8:
"Otshot unable to load skin".

Procedure

1. GO TO " Task Manager"; Click Processes; select OTSHOT; Select End Process.

2. Click "MY COMPUTER ICON"; enter in Search box enter OTSHOP; click GO.

There may be 4 to 6 files of OTSHOT found.

3. Right Click on each file found {of OTSHOT}; and Rename each file to a dummy name such as [for example]  xxxOTSHOT.  [you may need to run as administrator when renaming files].

4. Close down the computer and RESTART Windows.

The problem should now be gone.

5. CLEANUP PHASE:

Click "MY COMPUTER ICON"; enter in Search box enter xxxOTSHOP; click GO.

The files found  of xxxOTSHOT will be displayed.

6. Right Click on each file found {of xxxOTSHOT};  Delete each dummy file [xxxOTSHOT].

The problem is gone.  Note: that this probably does not take care of the registry problemsBut you will no longer be annoyed.  Editing the registry [is risky] should be done by people that have a very good knowledge of Windows.

After having unsuccessfully tried several methods to rid myself of that annoying OTshot pop-up, I finally got rid of it by doing a "System Restore"; in other words, you restore your computer to a previous time, before the OTshot thing started showing up. More than likely, you downloaded some program that installed OTshot on your computer, so just go back to before that time. There are plenty of instructions on the Net as to how to carry out a System restore. It's very easy and effective!! Hope this helps...

I have tried uninstalling this without any luck. One of the steps asked for a product code and I'm not sure which code I was supposed to input. Any suggestions?
