I've got a Gateway ZX4951 and the touch screen no longer works.  I have wiped the hard drive and restored the PC to factory defaults.  Still, no Touch Screen.  However, I noticed that Microsoft updates were installed (viewing dates later that the factory OEM apps) after the factory restore.  It seems that Microsoft updates are the problem.  I think I will do a new factory restore and prevent Microsoft (KB) updates.  then I'll test the Touch Screen again.  If it works, them Microsoft updates are the problem and Gateway/Acer isn't obligated to update its drivers.
