ASUS Zenbook UX31 touchpad on Windows 8 stops working after some time

Hi
I have an ASUS Ultrabook with Windows 8. The touchpad stops working after first 5 minutes of booting the windows. Can you tell me if this is a hardware or a software issue ? Any ways to troubleshoot this. The model is Zenbook with SSD hard disk and touch screen with i7.

Thanks

Hi

Thanks for the revert. The Laptop came pre installed with Windows 8 Professional. Its a ASUS ZenBook UX31 with with Touchscreen. Can you help me understand if its a hardware problem or a software problem as the touchpad does work for first 5 minutes and then stops working.
