unable to upgrade to windows 8, getting error code: 0x0000005d

Original Title: need to get out of installation of windows 8

tried to install windows 8 on to dell 4700 desktop only to find out not compatible. keep getting black screen with error code 0x0000005d - restart computer black screen . when i try to restart same message comes up. when i hit f12 get error code salying floppy disc failed . when i ran diagnostic test got this error code 0F00.136C. can not get past this circle to get back to my good old windows XP. infact this will not allow me to do anything. can anyone help

As I understand, you were unable to upgrade to Windows 8 from Windows XP and got the error code 0x0000005d.
 
We would like to inform you that upgrades from Windows XP to Windows 8 is not possible.
Here’s what you can try:
Re-install Windows XP from scratch.
Or you can try to clean install Windows 8.
Make sure to run the Windows Upgrade Assistant before you begin.
