Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forums.

From the description, I understand that you are getting “Driver irql not less or equal (netio.sys)” Blue screen error message while using “uTorrent”.

I would recommend you to follow the below given methods and check if it fixes the issue.

Method 1: Check in Safe Mode

Boot the computer in Safe mode with Networking and check if the issue persists. Follow these steps to start the computer in safe mode.

Click on the link and follow the steps “Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode)”

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode

If the issue does not persist in safe mode, then place the computer in clean boot and check.

Method 2: Update all the drivers for Windows 8.

Method 3: Place the computer in clean boot and check if the issue persists. You may follow the article provided below to perform a clean boot.

Follow the instructions (Step 1 for Windows 8) given in this link to perform a clean boot:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After performing the troubleshooting steps in clean boot, follow these steps to return the computer to Normal startup mode.

a) Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.
b) In the ‘Run’ windows type ’MSCONFIG’ and click ‘Ok’.
c) On the General tab, click the Normal Startup option, and then click ok.
d) When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.

Method 4: Run Online Scan (Microsoft Safety Scanner).

A fast way to check for viruses is to use an online scanner, such as the Microsoft Safety Scanner. The scanner is a free online service that helps you identify and remove viruses, clean up your hard disk, and generally improve your computer's performance.

To run the Microsoft Safety Scanner:

a. Go to the Microsoft Safety Scanner webpage to download the scanner.
http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
b. Click Download Now, and then follow the instructions on the screen.

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.
