I want to remove Windows XP from boot option completely.

How do I edit the boot option menu in Windows 8?
How do I edit the boot option menu in Windows 8?

Try using  msconfig.exe  Boot  tab.   E.g. there you will see a list of your boot choices and if you pick one you can see that there is a Delete button you can use then.   FWIW I don't want to test this idea myself.   ;  )

Good luck

I tried msconfig but strangely it doesn't show Windows XP as an options.

The XP option only appears in the boot up screen.

What else can I do?

Sorry.   I saw my W7 that way and just assumed that you would see your XP there too.

Now I remember when I had XP and W7 I had two drives (not partitions) and I could have probably had something like that too.   I had to use the BIOS boot selector to pick my drive and then I could boot one or the other.   That was good because XP and W7 use different boot techniques.   However, I think, but am not sure, that the W7 boot technique could have included the XP, so perhaps that's the way that yours was included?

Anyway to check, on W8, in an administrator cmd window try entering bcdedit.exe and see what it says.

Then I suppose you would need to use the  bcdedit.exe /delete  command to try to change it.  Again, that is something that I am only aware of and have not used personally.

Good luck
