BSOD in Windows 8 with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ndis.sys

I have a new Sony all in one L242Z1EB running W8 and I keep getting BSCOD with above message. I've tried restoring to a previous version but system restore doesn't work! Help!

Hi,

Results verified by WinDBG. DumpCHK, and BlueScreenView.

The Bug_Check were D1 CAUSE Rt630x64.sys Realtek 8136/8168/8169 PCI/PCIe Adapters.

BugCheck D1, {28, 2, 1, fffff88001cc6cd3}

Probably caused by : Rt630x64.sys ( Rt630x64+1b525 )

Rt630x64.sys dated 6/12/2012 Realtek 8136/8168/8169 PCI/PCIe Adapters.

1. Install the latest RealTek NIC (Wired) driver update.

RTL8168/8169 <- this should be the latest driver update available at this time.

2. Check with Sony Support, their on-line documentation and drivers, and ask in their forums
about any known issues. Update the BIOS, chipset drivers, and the other major on-board and
separate device drivers.

3. Use all the other methods as needed in the previously posted troubleshooters.

Hi,

BTW at the time of those minidumps you were running McAfee which has been known to
be involved in such issues. Consider uninstalling it and then run the McAfee Removal Tool
to prevent trouble causing remnants. Use Windows Defender which in Windows 8 is a
full featured antivirus based on MSE.

Windows Defender will automatically scan once per day. Run Windows Defender to see the
last date and time as well as the type - Quick, Full, or Custom.  The  Quick Scan will be used
for the once per day scan by default.

You can Search for Defender - Win Key + W

Windows Defender - in the Settings tab - Administrator - check or uncheck (as desired)
Turn on Windows Defender.
