Sorry, we couldn't make changes to Family Safety settings.

Hello there.

We recently purchased two laptops for our children. My wife has been trying set up parental controls but we've been striking problems on one of them.

 

We removed the trial version of McAfee that came with the laptop and installed Total Defense Anti-virus. We then tried setting up the Family settings.

 

One laptop is working fine, but the other, identical laptop displays an error message whenever Family settings are changed.
"Sorry, we couldn't make changes to Family Safety settings."

 

The settings appear to be there correctly, despite the error message, but they have no effect on browsing or access times.

 

Both Laptops are running Windows 8 with local accounts for the settings.

 

Any assistance you can offer would be appreciated.

I would suggest you to upgrade your Windows 8 operating system to Windows 8.1 and check if that resolves this issue.
