Problem signing in to Windows 8 Consumer Preview with a Connected Account (Microsoft account)

You installed Windows 8 Consumer Preview and used your email  to sign in with a connected account (Microsoft account), but now can't sign in to Windows. 
What are some steps to try to fix a sign in problem?

If you normally sign into Windows 8 Consumer Preview with a connected account (Microsoft account), try using a different machine and signing in to http://Account.Live.com to see if there’s a problem with your account.

 

If you can sign in, try changing your password by clicking the Change link next to 'Password', then try signing into Windows 8 Consumer Preview with the new password.

   

If you can't sign in, you can reset your password by clicking

Can't access your account? under the Password field, and following the prompts.
